My iPhone Loves The TuneLink Auto device
January 9, 2011
My iPhone loves my new TuneLink Auto FM Bluetooth device from NewPotatoTech. I guess it would be more accurate to say that I love how the TuneLink Auto works with my iPhone!
This amazing new TuneLink Auto device is $99 bucks, and works in conjunction with their free TuneLink iPhone app. The app then streams your iPhone’s audio via Bluetooth to the little dongle you plug into the cigarette lighter of your car (or whatever those things are called now). From there, the device itself streams the audio to your car’s fm stereo. If your car has an Auxiliary audio jack, it’ll go that route as well, and give you the best possible sound quality.
I had been using a few different Belkin TuneBase FM devices for the past few years. And, although the sound quality wasn’t great, it was better than the other iPhone FM transmitting devices that I had tried.
This TuneLink Auto unit gives far superior Stereo FM sound quality, to any of the Belkin devices I’ve ever used. It’s also MUCH better sound quality than whatever little fm device he had been using. Although the sound quality, via FM, isn’t perfect, it is surprisingly good. And it’s the first of any such device that would allow good enough sound quality that I could listen in Stereo. For the past few years, I’ve only been able to listen to FM transmitter devices in Mono. Of course, the quality of the FM signal that you could get with the TuneLink Auto unit, will depend much on the other FM radio signals in your area.
Setting up and using this TuneLink Auto device and app is the easiest and quickest thing like this I’ve ever used. It also comes with a USB jack and a USB cord with iPhone charging plug at the other end, for when I don’t have enough iPhone battery power to be fully wireless for long.
You can even purchase the TuneLink Auto device from my Amazon affiliate store at MediaVoiceOvers.com/TuneLink
If you buy yourself a TuneLink Auto unit, please share your thoughts, as well as any useful tips, here. Thank you!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to hop back into my car, and listen to some more podcasts and audiobooks!

Green Bay Packers in Playoffs
January 5, 2011
Green Bay Packers chances of making it to (and winning) the Super
Bowl as “just a Wild Card” team, I would remind them that even some
of the other NFL teams in the NFC are nervous about having such a
“dangerous” team in the playoffs. This past weekend, the Chicago
Bears played their starters against us, the entire game, even though the game didn’t have any bearing in their own playoff seeding. The Bears played their starters in an effort to beat the Green Bay Packers, and keep us out of the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Bears, but fortunately for the Packers, Chicago’s plan didn’t work out, and the Packers won the game!
This weekend, the playoffs begin for the Packers, with a Sunday night game in Philadelphia against the Eagles. Green Bay should be able to win this game, and continue on in the playoffs, and advance to play the Falcons in Atlanta, Georgia.
These are exciting times to be a fan of the 12-Time World Champion Green Bay Packers! Could we become the 13-Time World Champions, by winning the Super Bowl next month? What do you think?
Please leave your comments here or call the feedback voicemail at (904) 469-7469.
Thank you, and Go Pack Go!

Let’s Make 2011 The Best Year Yet!
January 1, 2011
Yeah, I know it’s been awhile, as far as a text blog post goes. Those of you kind enough to subscribe to the text blog feed are likely surprised to see this post. One of my goals for 2011, is to get back into more blogging, as well as producing more of all of my podcasts, in addition to taking my Voice Acting business to the next level.
On the podcasting side of things, I hired fellow podcaster, Rick Moyer, to bring my very sketchy (pun intended) conception drawings for new iTunes album artwork logos to fruition. I am very happy how this new series of podcast logos turned out. I think they really stand-apart from other podcast logos in their iTunes categories. In addition, when “Wayne Henderson” or “Media Voice-Overs” is searched for in iTunes (or in the Zune and Blackberry podcast stores), it will be readily apparent that these shows are all produced as a group.
I’ve been blessed over the past year or so, in being able to be hired to use my Voice Acting talents to produce podcast Intro/Outro and Liner packages for a variety of other podcasters. Since I am already a subscriber to almost all of these podcasts, I admit to sometimes still being surprised when I listen to these podcasts and hear my own voice. It’s quite a pleasant surprise.
Looking back, it’s hard to believe that I’ve been podcasting and voice acting since August of 2005, after all those years working on-air at rock and country radio stations. Thank you so much for listening to my podcasts, sending in feedback, and conversing with me on Twitter and Facebook. You’ll see the full list of links to the social networking sites I’m involved with on the right side-bar of this website.
Stay “Tuned in…”.

Show A Podcaster Some Love every Thursday
March 24, 2009
A friend of my LOSTcasting With Wayne And Dan podcast, Jeff Roney, has helped come up with the idea of making it a bit of an “event” for podcast listeners to help out their favorite podcasters. Every Thursday will now be “Show A Podcaster Some Love” day. We will send out weekly reminders on Twitter and on Facebook.
On Twitter, we have just started using the Twitter hashtag of #SAPSL, for easy tracking of “Show A Podcaster Some Love” postings. The use of #SAPSL will hopefully really take-off with other podcasters. I am VERY excited that very successful full-time podcaster, Cliff Ravenscraft, recently interviewed me about the SAPSL movement on episode #114 of his Podcast Answer Man podcast (6/4/09) at http://PodcastAnswerMan.com! And, for Facebook users, we just launched the “Show A Podcaster Some Love” Fan page on Facebook.
Podcasters; we want to help your show to be recognized. If you would like to be considered as one of the featured Podcasters Of The Week on Jeff Roney’s Podcaster Love page, just visit this page of his site for all of the details. It’s a great “grass roots” type of movement, and we want to help as many podcasters as possible.
Podcast listeners; if you would be willing to take a few minutes and please help out your favorite Tuning In With Wayne Henderson podcast (LOSTcasting, FRiNGEcasting, TIWWH, Christmas Memories Past And Present, The Voice-Over Journey) just visit the direct links at http://MediaVoiceOvers.com/iTunes and let iTunes know how you like some of these shows.
I’ve left plenty of positive feedback, over the past year, for podcasts that I enjoy. I will continue to search out new podcasts, and leave feedback for the ones I like.
Thank you for your continued support. It means a lot to me personally to know that you like some of the online radio programs that I produce. In addition, if you would like me to provide my Voice-Over services for any of your podcasts, business audio training programs, radio or television commercials, please let me know. I would love to discuss the details with you!
Have a great day!

Fringe’s Observer at Giants-Eagles NFL Playoff game!
January 13, 2009
The Observer was there to, well, I guess just to “observe”! It didn’t appear like he was rooting for any particular team in the Giants/Eagles playoff game.
I just thought it was great for FOX to plant this little promotional nugget into the game. No credits were posted on the screen identifying The Observer. The announcers didn’t make any mention of it at all. There was just that slow camera pan, pointing him out silently, but clearly, to us who are always watching Fringe, observing The Observer.
Voices.com’s new Report On The Voice Over Industry 2009
December 30, 2008
Podcasters, as well as Voice Actors, need to download and read the new “Report On The Voice Over Industry 2009” as part of making their work and promotion plans for the coming year! I would go as far as to say that doing so is a must. David Ciccarelli is the President and CEO of Voices.com, the top online marketplace for Voice Actors to find Businesses actively seeking to hire Voice Talent. For the past few years, David Ciccarelli has been releasing this valuable report, for free. Knowledge is power; and knowledge for free, is free power for your Voice-Over and Podcasting careers.
But what does the state of the Voice Over business have to do with Podcasters, who don’t think about Voice-Overs as having anything to do with them? Then again, some Voice Actors might be thinking to themselves, “What do I care about Podcasting?”. Well, there are some stunning numbers all about Podcasting contained within the report from Voices.com! As a Voice Talent, who has been producing his own Podcasts since 2005 (I now have over 100 episodes of my various shows in iTunes), even I was surprised by some of the ways Podcasting and Voice-Overs are being tied together.
In addition, there are some exciting forecasts about the VO Audiobook market, and the Video Game Voice market. This pdf report is one that I have saved to my computer, as well as have printed out, to refer to repeatedly throughout 2009.
You can download David’s eye-opening Report On The Voice Over Industry 2009 at http://blogs.voices.com/voxdaily/2008/12/report_on_the_voice_over_industry-2009.html.
Another great site where you can read some excellent articles on the voice-over industry is VoiceOverExtra.com
Your Favorite Board Games For A Party?
December 30, 2008
While checking out Twitter this morning, we started talking about board games, and which ones people like best for a small gathering New Years Eve party (although I’m sure this applies to any extended-family party).
Basically, it is agreed that although Chess is an amazing game, it doesn’t quite have the right “zing” for a party atmosphere!
Our favorite board games to play on New Years Eve are Catch Phrase, Balderdash, and Compatibility.
What are your favorite board games for a family party (NY Eve, or otherwise)?
Thanks again for “Tuning In…”

2009 Is Coming; Bring It On!
December 29, 2008
A few days ago, I created a thread in the GSPN.tv forums, at http://gspn.tv/forum/index.php?topic=2342.0, entitled “Hopes, Dreams, and Plans for 2009 (and beyond)”. I posted the following in that forum:
* Starting next week, I plan to get more organized. I need to de-clutter my garage, closets, and even my computer’s desktop and files.
* I need to re-up my efforts to eat better, eat less, drink less soda, drink more water, exercise more, and exercise better.
* I plan to stay focused on building my Voice-Over career, including my podcasts, my websites/blog, and staying active in the communities.
* I need to stay more balanced in all that I do.
I would like to add to that original forum post:
* I pray that I will be open to God’s leading in all aspects of my life in all the years to come.
Happy New Year!

Just a fun play on the Church Sign phenomenon
December 27, 2008
My buddy Cliff Ravenscraft posted a new blog entry this morning, talking about a possible new marketing campaign. It’s a fun play on the whole Church Sign phenomenon. He explains how you can create your own custom “Church Sign” at ChurchSignGenerator.com.
I thought I would play around and create one as well. Here it is.
