Aaron, thank you for your comments on "Brown Betty". I agree with you on this one. For FOX to mandate "musical" episodes, it doesn't exactly give you much room to really tell a serious story. You notice that there wasn't a musical episode of "24"! It would have killed whatever momentum "24" has. Although I thought the musical episode of FRiNGE was forced, the actors appeared to make the most of it and have fun. I chalk "Brown Betty" up to "fun", and not much more. Thanks again for listening Aaron. These last two FRiNGE episodes of this season ought to be AWESOME!

I wasn't that crazy about the "musical" portions of the episode. I tend to run the opposite way of Dan in that regard. Having said that, there is something that I think was missed about this being a musical episode. It seems that the "powers that be" at Fox ordered all of the shows to have some kind of musical theme to them. I think that given their druthers, the creators and writers would not have done this kind of episode.

Art, thanks so much for the "Brown Betty" review, here in the shownotes, and for catching us on a few things.

Wow, we really did miss a few things in that episode!! To me, some of the references to past episodes (metal suppository, etc) seemed to be mere "shout outs", at least at the time.

I like your season 3 predictions Art!

With only a few episodes left this season, I am hoping for only epic episodes!

Thanks again for listening to our podcast.

Brown Betty review

You guys missed quite a bit in this episode.

Remember, Walter uses hallucinogenic drugs to self-medicate in order to try to fill in the memories that he lost. This episode had many obvious and no-so obvious references to the all Fringe episodes to this point.

The picture of John Scott in the opening, and Olivia looking at it with resentment. Is that Olivia hating John Scott, or Anna Torv closing her brief marriage to Mark Valley?

The giant suppository that crashed into the house. reference to the season one episode that introduced the Observers.

Olivia being thrown into a box and then thrown into the ocean... Reference to Olivia being in the sensory deprivation tank that happened several times during season one.

Did not see Charlie or Agent Jessup references (bad and good).

Now a prediction for the end of this season and season three.

If you look at the poster that was released at the start of this season, there were many references to 'Alice in Wonderland' . I believe that Peter will end up 'going down the rabbit hole' and end up in the alternate universe. (I also believe the secretary is William Bell, remember we need to keep balance between the universes)

Season three will be set entirely in the alternate universe. Peter will meet the alternate versions of everyone. Walter and Olivia prime will be spending the season trying to get him back.

Thanks for the podcast, and keep up the good work.
