Especially the part about the discs not being active once the person is dead. I was thinking along those lines and came up with the idea that maybe those discs functioning might be tied to body temperature. Like when the person dies and their body temperature drops below a certain point, then the disc inactivates itself. I definitely want to learn more about the discs!
