I believe the absence of Walternate is somewhat justifiable. Putting myself in Walternate’s shoes, in this new Peter-less reality not only did Walter take my son but my son also died in the process. Now you’re asking me to work together with him. I don’t think so. Frankly, Walternate should be even more PO’d at Walter and our side than he was in the old reality.
And I’m not sure that if and when Peter returns everything goes back the way it was. This season is supposed to be about consequences. I think Peter comes back into this new reality and have to prove who he is and work from scratch building all the relationships he had through the first three seasons.
Jason, thanks again for posting here in the show notes, as well as your awesome FRiNGE emails! Good points on Walternate’s possible motives. I’ll share this on the next FRiNGEcasting podcast! 🙂
