it seems Smokie can only assume the form of already dead people with a copy, IE Locke , Jack’s Dad and Alex. He couldn’t use either Alex or Jack’s dad to take over the leadership of the others because too many people already knew they were dead. By turning into fake Locke the only person who could have known he was fake was Sun, The rest who did know about Locke’s death all got flashed back. So I propose that what ever is taking over Sayid and Claire is something different than Smokie, because He only seems to be able to copy already dead bodies where the mystery “darkness” seems to actually take over the body. That’s my theory
Great points John! I agree, I think we’re dealing with AT LEAST two different entities here (The Darkness, Smokie, etc). It’ll be interesting to find out how it all plays into the characters’ stories. Thanks for the comment post, and for listening. I appreciate it John!
