Everyone who is criticizing the Adam & Eve flashbacks—or are they forwards?—is upset about the mystery aspect of it. But consider the emotional aspect. I think the producers gave us that in hope of provoking more emotion and prolonging the emotional scene.
Besides that, it was almost six years ago that we first saw the bones, some people need reminders!

I hadn’t thought that the Jack/Kate/Kocke scene might be better considered a flash-forward of sorts. Nice explanation!
